AMAL VARGHESE
I am currently a Master’s candidate in Economics at Yonsei University, South Korea, as a Global Leader Fellowship scholar. As of now, my primary interest lies in macroeconomics in general and monetary and environmental economics in particular. I focus on answering macro questions with micro data and draw on behavioral ideas when useful.

I completed my Bachelor’s (Honors) in Economics at the University of Delhi, in India. My undergraduate research and policy prescriptions on the economics of biodiversity in South Asia were presented at the South Asian Economics Students’ Meet in Colombo in collaboration with the World Bank . I also served as Editor-in-Chief of the Ramjas Economic Review Vol VI.
I write occasional poems and like to read mostly investigative and crime fiction. When it comes to romance and slice-of-life narratives, I unapologetically prefer K-dramas for their beautifully unrealistic standards of romance. I take short, curiosity-driven trips each month. I’m always up for a good conversation whether it’s about economics, creativity, or life! Please feel free to reach out to amalzmv@gmail.com if you think we have some interests in common!
